PARENT COUNSELING
Parenting is a job that never ends, and that we rarely get training for. You want to be the best parent that you can be, but sometimes you don’t know how to handle something, or find yourself reacting in ways you don’t like. -We work intensively with parents to teach you how to approach your children effectively and help your relationship with your kids heal and grow.
As experienced family and child counselors, we can help you and your child develop peace in your home and warmth in your relationship. We use attachment-based and trauma-informed family therapy interventions while working with families.
We know it can be hard to carve out time for yourself as a parent, which is why we offer sessions both in person and via our secure online video therapy system so we can meet you where you are.
We can help you through…
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
This mixture of play and behavioral therapy harnesses the power of the parent-child bond to help your child grow, heal and shine. The therapist supports you and your child to practice tools that will nurture moment-to-moment positive interactions. For children who struggle with anxiety or depression, experienced trauma, are disruptive, or who are neurodiverse, growing a secure relationship with their parent is essential to their healing.
Family Therapy
Families of all ages sometimes need the help of a family therapist. We support families to develop connection, strong bonds and communication using attachment-based and trauma-informed family therapy interventions. We are gentle and nurturing, yet firm and structured in our work with families. We also like to have fun.
Parent Consultation
Sometimes, you simply need a parenting sounding board. Parent consultation helps you with practical tools and strategies to ensure your family is on track. Perhaps you and your partner want to parent more effectively as a team. Maybe you are struggling with your parenting style and need some encouragement. Consultation helps you navigate family changes like sudden illness, separation or divorce or responding to a significant loss. Our goal is to empower you to be the best parent you can be.
