Clinical Supervision Options at Thrive - Clinical Supervision towards LPC and MFT licensure in Colorado and EFT Consultation for any EFT learner inside or outside the US

Are you looking to improve your clinical skills in your couples therapy work?

Are you eager to enhance your Emotionally Focused Therapy knowledge?

Are you hoping to earn your MFT or LPC license under EFT Supervision?

Are you ready to use cutting-edge, evidence-based approaches to help couples and individuals move from distress to recovery?

You’re in the right place.

We’ve fallen in love with helping couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) because of the amazing transformations we are honored to witness in our Colorado counseling practice  when couples and individuals choose us to help them heal.

As a therapist, you know that learning doesn’t stop when you graduate. Becoming a skilled, effective therapist takes hard work, and we’re here to support you along the way. Whether you want to earn EFT Certification or not, working with a supervisor can help you become the best clinician you can be.

We can help you deepen your understanding of EFT concepts, and expand on your training to give you a solid foundation from which we can hone your skills. We will work together to build an attuned relationship as supervisor and supervisee, and to explore any personal blocks that come up in your work.

At Thrive, Clinical Supervision or EFT Consultation is provided by Allison Rimland, LPC, Emma Loach, LMFT and Maury Holliman, LMFT. We can offer clinical supervision for licensure for MFT and LPC candidates. If you’ve been feeling stuck in your work with clients, or if you’re looking to level up your clinical skills, we’d love to support you.

Get to know Allison Rimland, LPC, Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor

I have over 20 years of experience counseling others to understand themselves more fully and better their lives. I counsel individuals, couples, families, and teens. I started my professional career in the high-tech sales world, making the change to counseling in order to follow my heart. This was a challenge to triumph journey where I ultimately found my true passion. I believe my clients can do the same.

I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from San Francisco State University. My BA is from Middlebury College in Vermont. I am a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist and Supervisor.

I first discovered EFT in 2010 and fell in love. Learning EFT has profoundly changed my personal and professional relationships for the better. EFT and attachment have become the way I make sense of the world, of our most important relationships and how we can strengthen them.

I believe that being a therapist is a lifelong journey of exploration and learning about ourselves, our clients and the craft of therapy. We’re never finished learning and that’s a good thing. I would love to be a source of support for you on your journey.

After obtaining my Bachelors in Honors Psychology in 2016 from the University of Alabama, I moved to Denver and began my career in the mental health field. During my time working in day treatment supporting children with trauma and their families, I found my passion for relational work. I earned my Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2021 and have been at Thrive since October of 2021. I obtained a leadership position as our Peer Support Leader in 2025 and offer opportunities for our staff to engage with one another through community and fun. I have a passion for working with couples, families and individuals through a systemic lens to better help them understand how to live healthier and happier lives that consider all elements of their identity.I became Certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy in April of 2025 and have completed the AAMFT Approved Supervision Fundamentals Course.

I offer supervisees the opportunity to grow their clinical skills as relational and systemic thinkers with a specialization in EFT along with teaching you how to better grow your practice and maintain client engagement. I aim to support supervisees in better understanding their self-of-the-therapist strengths and areas of growth along with finding the balance between the art and science of therapeutic work.

Benefits of clinical supervision

  • Get the support you need to level up your counseling skills and build your confidence as a clinician
  • Opportunities to practice and enhance skills before you use them with clients
  • Get support when navigating difficult client concerns
  • Refine your skills as a clinician by watching tapes and role playing
  • Experience and participate in the attuned therapeutic alliance you will provide your clients
  • Make space for your needs, as counseling couples and individuals through relationship ups and downs can be emotionally draining

What you can expect during supervision

Although we may consult on cases, the focus of our supervision is tailored to you and building up your skills and confidence as a clinician, and less on case consultation.  The process of EFT supervision can be broken down into four different goals, which help guide our work together:

  • Alliance – between supervisor and supervisee
  • Conceptual – understanding the concepts and theory of EFT
  • Experiential – watch tapes, role-play, experience concepts together, try new techniques, etc.
  • Self-of-the-Therapist – understanding and working through internal blocks on the part of the therapist

During our supervision sessions, we use the ACES model as the framework, then customized supervision to your needs, whether that is focused on alliance building with clients, conceptual understanding of EFT, experiential learning, or working through client or therapist internal blocks. We will meet for an hour, either virtually or in person in the Denver Tech Center.

EFT Supervision and Consultation

We use Emotionally Focused Therapy as clinicians because it works. The transformations we get to witness from our clients are profound and often life-changing. Facilitating these transformations takes knowledge, skill, confidence, and compassion, which supervision can help provide.

We have experience in applying EFT in all three modalities – couples (EFCT), families (EFFT) and individuals (EFIT). Whether your goal is ICEEFT certification or simply  enhancing your skills, we have your back! We’ll meet you where you are and hope to leave you feeling validated, supported, resourced, and empowered to use EFT in your clinical practice.

Clinical Supervision for MFT or LPC Licensure

In addition to offering EFT supervision, we can provide LPC and MFT supervision to those looking to become licensed. This supervision is focused on broader clinical skills and ethical practice within the Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist specialties.

We will work together to further enhance your clinical skills, particularly core clinical skills like case conceptualization, intervention selection, and effective communication, as well as ethical considerations like practice standards, client confidentiality, and boundaries to have in place as a clinician.

Allison Rimland, LPC; Emma Loach, LMFT; and Maury Holliman, LMFT offer LPC and MFT supervision at Thrive Couple and Family Counseling Services in Colorado.
