Meet Greta Swanson, MA, MFTC
How I Can Help
Hi, I’m Greta (she/her). I understand how challenging and unpredictable life can be, as I’ve experienced difficulties in my own relationships. Sharing your pain, guilt or trauma with someone who truly listens and helps you make sense of your experience can make all the difference. I want to be that person for you.
If you are a couple who has struggled with repairing your relationship from distance, conflict, substance abuse issues or injuries like affairs and you want to repair, you can do this. I have witnessed broken relationships regain trust, create new ways of communicating, find deeper connection, and flourish. Your love is still there; you just need to find your footing once again. It is my passion and an honor to help you in that journey.
If you are experiencing a life transition, or you have decided your relationship must end, I am here to be by your side during this difficult season. While it is true as the saying goes that time heals, and feelings aren’t forever, these difficult times can be so deeply painful and isolating. None of us should struggle alone; it’s not how we’re wired. If you have children and wish to love them the best you can through a divorce, I’m here to help you keep the focus on their wellbeing and healing. I’m here to walk alongside you to the other side.
Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals, Couples and Families
EFT is a very powerful and research-based way to help you reconnect and find security within your most important relationships, including the relationship you have with yourself. I look forward to helping you catalyze change in your life with the magic of Emotionally Focused Therapy. This model has been life-changing for me, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

How I Spend My Free Time
When I am not in my therapist role, I am usually reading self-help books, listening to funny podcasts, walking my dog or spending time with my family. I enjoy doing all the wonderful outdoor activities Colorado has to offer – skiing, being outside and enjoying nature. I also love to run, swim, hike or bike. It’s fun for me to take care of plants and try to keep them alive. You can often find me spending time with friends and family. As an extrovert, interpersonal relationships fill up my cup and bring me so much joy.

Why choose me as your therapist?
I am a career-changer and spent many years in education, so I have supported and celebrated the growth and change of many a person. I’ve always been passionate about helping people and talking to them about their lives, so much so that others envisioned me as a therapist all along. I love listening to people and providing new and fresh perspectives on situations that might feel stuck, daunting, heavy or suffocating in their lives. I come from a place of complete lack of judgment having had many of my own life experiences and challenges.
I would love to work with you, hear more about your unique story, and help you achieve your goals. Counseling appointments with me are available Monday evenings; as well as Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays daytime.
