Who are your counseling clients?

Or, maybe you are feeling overwhelmed about what to do and you need a safe space with an outside perspective to help you get to clarity about your feelings and decide what to do.

Why do you enjoy counseling couples?

Helping couples revive their relationship and break negative cycles of interacting is my passion!

I believe that every couple has the capacity to thrive. No one deserves to feel the pain of loneliness.

I find couples therapy so inspiring because simply coming to a therapist is such a loving step for you to take. I love helping couples find hope that they can begin to repair and build the relationship they want.

What’s it like to work with you?

I believe most of all that therapy should be a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your relationship or challenges.

I will help you slow down your interactions, understand your own perspective and feelings, and assist you to share with your partner or loved ones in a way that you can hear, be heard and feel closer. I strive to build hope by helping you share the vision of what you want your relationship to be.

What is your counseling style?


We are all perfectly imperfect human beings, trying our best. I work to develop a close rapport with my clients, using honest and genuine communication paired with unconditional positive regard to see your strengths regardless of your current situation. I stay away from harsh diagnosis and pathologizing, and focus more on using your current skills to boost your progress. Your willingness to come to therapy is a courageous and beautiful strength! 

Attachment-Based & Relational

The desire and instinct to connect with others is built into every one of us, and is a huge advantage! I use Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy techniques to highlight this healthy instinct and work to help combat this negative push-pull cycle of interaction you’ve become stuck in. This negative cycle becomes our common enemy, helping you get out of the blame game! By helping you tap into this natural drive to connect and teaching you how to get out of that negative cycle, you can start to feel closer and more secure with your partner. 


We all have a family or caretakers that influenced us and taught us, for better or worse, about being in relationships. With compassion and curiosity, I strive to view you and your partner in the context of your current relationship, but within system that you grew up in. Working to see you as a whole can help lead to a healthier, more accurate understanding of your current situation, and helps you begin to create the life you want

Sex Positive Support for Sex and Intimacy Concerns

Regardless of age, sexuality is an integral part of any relationship.  As emotional connection decreases, it is usually followed by a sexual disconnect, and that can be incredibly disappointing and sad! I believe these two go hand and hand, so it is important to make room for these sometimes difficult conversations during counseling. Together we will work to revive your desire and celebrate your sex life!

LGBTQ* Affirmative

Gender expression and sexual orientation discussions can feel vulnerable and delicate. I work to create a safe and open space to explore and support LGBTQ* clients struggling to embrace these parts of their identities. I was awarded the National Board of Certified Counselors Foundation 2015 Minority Mental Health Fellowship for my work with the LGBTQ* community, and am involved in various PRIDE events. Knowing our work may look different than that of heterosexual couples, I aim to offer a unique experience of welcoming, affirmation, and safety.

What are your favorite things to do when you aren’t counseling?

What is your background?

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Ohio University, I started my helping professional journey doing social work in Cleveland.  However, recognizing my love for talk therapy, I decided to pursue a counseling career.

I graduated from the second leading graduate counseling program, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Masters of Science in Couples and Family Counseling. There, I interned as a Therapist working with couples around Sex and Intimacy, and found my passion for the dynamics of couples counseling, ultimately securing the focus for my work.

I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist, and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
